Painting back in Clearwater has been a challenge. Since I've been here so long, I stay busy. Too busy. I don't like saying "No". I have just gotten another place to be my last shop. My retirement studio / gallery. I'll never retire...I'll just paint until I can't anymore. I see the new challenges of the up and coming artists. Everyone is so used to getting things immediately that giving a custom artist time to fit a job in with others... one can blow a gasket! I've seen it recently! Got a couple whiners already this past year. "Good things come to those who wait" or "Haste makes waste". Imagine today if you commissioned Salvadore Dali to paint something and after a year you are wondering where your painting is??? LOL I get that reaction sometimes in a week! My Brother in California says "up and comers" will disappear because of printing. I don't think that is true. Some people like character. I know of many artists that can paint better than a photographic image but after studying the masters, it's nice to see the brush strokes, fingerprints and such in a piece of artwork. It's almost like the painting has a soul of it's own!
I've started a portrait series and "amazing earth" series. They'll be shown when I build my next gallery in Central florida... details to come. Just signed the papers this past week! The cool thing is that it's where Manatees and my wonderful memories of playing in the water dwell. Be Blessed!
