Slinging paint

Well the past months have been busy and a major part of my website has been down without me knowing! May have to change registrars. I've had more work pouring in than I knew what to do with. What a blessing! I've been wanting to start these two series I have in mind but the commissions have to come first. I've had some great customers this year so far. I've had celebrities giving me good comments, repeat customers and good things coming through! Praise God!

North and South

Painting back in Clearwater has been a challenge. Since I've been here so long, I stay busy. Too busy. I don't like saying "No". I have just gotten another place to be my last shop. My retirement studio / gallery. I'll never retire...I'll just paint until I can't anymore. I see the new challenges of the up and coming artists. Everyone is so used to getting things immediately that giving a custom artist time to fit a job in with others... one can blow a gasket! I've seen it recently! Got a couple whiners already this past year. "Good things come to those who wait" or "Haste makes waste". Imagine today if you commissioned Salvadore Dali to paint something and after a year you are wondering where your painting is??? LOL I get that reaction sometimes in a week! My Brother in California says "up and comers" will disappear because of printing. I don't think that is true. Some people like character. I know of many artists that can paint better than a photographic image but after studying the masters, it's nice to see the brush strokes, fingerprints and such in a piece of artwork. It's almost like the painting has a soul of it's own! I've started a portrait series and "amazing earth" series. They'll be shown when I build my next gallery in Central florida... details to come. Just signed the papers this past week! The cool thing is that it's where Manatees and my wonderful memories of playing in the water dwell. Be Blessed!

Through another storm

I had the opportunity to study some great work for a few months down at the museum. Study close and personal. This was a great experience. I had learned a lot! It's getting close to my new venue. I just had the biggest Christmas season ever. It's been great! The bad thing was that I was booked through Christmas at Thanksgiving and only took one small job after. Paint temp was good! Work, work, work, where does the time go? Two days of shipping left and I'm taking some time off! I'm not forgetting the reason for the season and I do that every day of the year. We are all blessed! AMEN!

okay what a first week. Between the backordered items and moving more shop than I imagined, things were pretty much overdue by about 2 weeks. Finishing up this week are: PP Megaphones, Dressage Jacket design, Duck plate, Sexy eyes Von Dutch plate, Praying hands cover, Jesus cover, Frog, Yellow Vette and Red Vette Boxes, WHEW! Onward!

The Original Airbrush Garage

I'm back in the original Airbrush Garage in Clearwater. This is where I became known as "Airbrush Bobby" in the 80's and 90's. Nice to be back although I miss my animals. The amount of work is startling but I need it at this time to keep my mind occupied. Onward!

Firing on all 8 at Airbrush Garage!

The County fair went great then a short Ft. Lauderdale trip followed. I was happy to get all covers out except one! It's good to get back to the shop and am excited to get some mailbox requests going along with some wheel covers and signs. Sunburn from Ft. Lauderdale is going away because it's 10 degrees colder here! Weather is now great for painting so let's PAINT ON!

C'mon spring!

The past month has been tough. Painting in Florida is usually easy but with the freezing temps and cold weather so many days in a row sure kills a schedule. If you get many people asking status at one time along with having the same email for many years... well, it'll bury you. It is impossible to answer all emails. Things are getting done during the cold but not as fast as normal. County fair is starting and I gotta get these jobs that are in, shipped out so I can remain focused.

The new inks and paints are awesome. I'm using the same colors as the Ford Motor company. Tough stuff!
